Funding awarded to LiveArts....

Wednesday 07th April 2010 - 04:37 pm

LiveArts is delighted to announce that it has recently been awarded grant funding from both CharterPlus and the Oxfordshire Community Foundation Grassroots funds to help run their second Intergenerational Singing Workshop Programme with young people from local primary schools and adults from the community.

These generous awards provide the opportunity for children to interact with adults from the community and to build confidence and self-esteem by using singing as a means of achieving this. LiveArts has been organising performing arts workshops for the past 7 years and has built excellent relations with local schools.

In June, LiveArts will be working with a highly experienced company called Sense of Sound who recently worked for the BBC series 'The Choir' with Gareth Malone. They will deliver singing workshops to over 120 young people from four local primary schools and up to 40 adults from the community. The workshops will be spread over four weeks and will lead to a Celebratory Performance in St Mary's Church on Thursday 1st July.
